GATESHEAD v WOKING

Football – England – National League Betting Tips

Gateshead will be looking to climb up into the top half of the National League when they play host to 9th placed Woking at the Gateshead International Stadium on Saturday afternoon, and in turn get back to winning ways again following a defeat and a draw in recent times.

The Heed suffered a 2-1 defeat at home to Barrow and could only muster a point in a 1-1 draw away at Solihull Moors weekend before last in the National League, and come into this clash on the back of a 5-0 pasting at the hands of League Two outfit Luton Town in last weekend’s FA Cup.

Gateshead’s league form at home in recent weeks has also been inconsistent as they’ve registered just one win from their last six matches, which was a 1-0 win over Tranmere Rovers, but losses to Bromley and Barrow have impacted their home record to 5-3-3  14/8. Defender Scott Barrow will miss this clash due to concussion.

Visitors Woking will have gained a lot of confidence from their 1-1 draw at home with League One side Peterborough United in the FA Cup last weekend as they prepare for their trip up to the north-east to face Gateshead in the National League.

The Cards have managed just one league win from their last seven matches overall, which was a 1-0 home win over mid-table Ebbsfleet United, and although they’ve suffered recent defeats to Guiseley and Boreham Wood, they’ll have a couple of important players returning to the squad.

Midfielders Orlu and Charles-Cook return from suspension and a loan re-call from Charlton Athletic respectively, and should both figure in manager Anthony Limbrick’s plans today as he has an almost full squad to pick from.
