Genk Preview – Can Genk climb into top eight?
It’s certainly been a mixed start to Genk’s new First Division A campaign as the hosts have won, lost and drawn in equal measure not only at home but away from home as well and they duly sit in a mid-table position of 11th on the Belgian top flight ladder ahead of Monday night’s clash against Oostende.

After a disappointing start to their new First Division A campaign which culminated in early back-to-back defeats against Beerschot and Sporting Charleroi in 2-1 and 1-0 losses respectively, Monday night’s hosts, Oostende, seem to be staging a recovery prior to this clash with Genk.
Two draws with Sint-Truiden and Anderlecht helped steady the ship and enabled Oostende to pick up a couple of valuable points and they’ve since registered back-to-back wins over Mechelen and OH Leuven to give them a four-match unbeaten run heading into Monday night’s encounter.
However, before we get too carried away, Oostende still have serious problems away from home as the visitors have managed to win just one of their last 16 matches on their travels in the Belgian top flight which also includes failing to score in nine of these 16 games too.
