GERMANY v FRANCE

Thursday 7th July 2016 – Kickoff: 2100hrs

Football – Europe – Euro 2016 Betting Tips

The venue is the Stade Velodrome in Marseille as Germany face off against the host nation France in the second semi-final as we anticipate another mouth-watering clash involving the current World Cup holders Germany.

The Germans overcame a stubborn Italy in what became a war of attrition as the quarter-final went the distance with Germany winning 6-5 on penalties after the 90 minutes had failed to separate the two teams in a 1-1 draw after extra time too.

Germany are now unbeaten in their last six matches overall, and they’ve registered victories over Hungary, Ukraine, Northern Ireland, Slovakia and Italy during this sequence. But historically, Germany have not enjoyed the upper hand against France as they’ve won just twice in their last seven encounters against tonight’s opponents.

France have continued their march towards the Euro 2016 final as they eventually ended Iceland’s fairytale run in this competition, winning 5-2 in the quarter-final as they outplayed the underdogs in front of their fans in Paris.

France’s star players all stood up against Iceland with the likes of Pogba, Griezmann, Payet and Giroud with all four players getting on the scoresheet after finding a lot of space within to operate against an unusually lax Iceland defence.

France know they will face a very different prospect in the Germans on Thursday night and I daresay the space that was allowed to the four aforementioned players will be denied in this match.

This match could go all the way to penalties again, but I’ll back Germany to at least avoid defeat in the first 90 minutes and they could just about squeeze through if they get a little luck.
