Germany Preview – Second win in six games for the Germans?

Germany do not lose many, but the 2014 FIFA World Cup winners have won only one of their previous five since returning to action in September. Four of those five have ended in draws, with their sole victory in 2020 coming against Ukraine in the UEFA Nations League last month.

Speaking of the Nations League, the Germans are currently sitting in second spot in League A, Group 4. Spain lead the way on seven points, with Germany and Ukraine both on six. It is still all to play for, with Joachim Low’s boys facing the Ukrainians in Leipzig and the Spaniards in Seville in their last two.

Our betting prediction:
Germany to score 3+ goals
5/4

Germany have drawn far too many matches lately, but they are still one of the toughest teams to beat in international football. Only Holland have seen them off in the last two years. They should secure an easy home win on Wednesday.

Czech Republic Preview – Heavy defeat for the Czechs?

Czech Republic have won two and lost two of their four Nations League matches. Steve Clarke’s Scotland are on ten points in League B, Group 2, with the Czechs four points behind in second. Jaroslav Silhavy’s men end their campaign with home games against Israel and Slovakia.

Czech Republic have been in patchy form of late, winning three and drawing two of five in 2020. They seem to either win or lose, as they have not drawn a game since a 1-1 stalemate with Norway way back in June 2017. That remains their only tie in 35 games across various competitions.

Like their opponents, Czech Republic will have one eye on their upcoming Nations League fixtures. However, they must be at their best if they are to take anything away from Wednesday’s clash in Leipzig.

Germany vs Czech Republic Betting Advice

Germany have had Czech Republic’s number in recent meetings, winning three of the last four. Overall, the Germans have won six of the eight meetings. When they last met, goals from Timo Werner and Mats Hummels gave Germany a 2-1 win the Czech Republic in a 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier.

Key Facts – Germany vs Czech Republic Betting Tip

  • Germany have won six of the previous eight meetings
  • The Germans have been beaten just once in over two years
  • Four of Germany’s last five games have ended in draws

As we mentioned, Germany have drawn too many games lately for their liking, but they remain as tough to beat as ever. Low’s troops should cruise past the Czechs at the Red Bull Arena in midweek. Check out the tempting price of 21/20 for the hosts to be winning at half time and full time.

Since switching Leipzig for London, Werner has been in red-hot form for Frank Lampard’s Chelsea, scoring five goals in his last four appearances. Werner is available at 8/11 to notch anytime in this one.
