Greece – Can Greece put pressure on top two in Group J?

Greece made a good start to their Euro 2020 qualifying campaign with a solid 2-0 win away at minnows Liechtenstein and followed that up with a worthy point in a 2-2 draw away at Bosnia-Herzegovina as they picked up 4 points from two away matches on the trot.

However, Greece were well beaten by Italy when they returned to their Olympiako Stadio Spyros Louis in a 3-0 loss on home turf, so Tuesday night’s hosts will no doubt be desperate to bounce back with a win over struggling Armenia here this evening.

Overall results at home have produced an average return for Greece as they’ve picked up just 3 wins out of their last 11 matches on home soil which were victories gained over Gibraltar, Hungary and Finland, but although they’ve recently suffered defeats to Switzerland, Estonia and Italy, they’ll be confident they can get all three points against Armenia in this clash.

Greece hold a good record over the Armenians as they’ve won 3 of the 4 previous meetings between these two sides.

Armenia Prediction – Can Armenia hold out for a possible point?

Armenia started their Euro 2020 campaign as expected as they were dealt back-to-back defeats to Bosnia-Herzegovina and Finland in 2-1 and 2-0 losses respectively, but bounced back with a 3-0 home win over the whipping boys of Group J, Liechtenstein last time out at their Vazgen Sargsyan anvan Hanrapetakan Marzadasht in Yerevan.

However, Armenia’s revival and success is expected to be short-lived as they make their way over to Athens for this important group match, and although they’ve picked up recent wins against Gibraltar and the aforementioned Liechtenstein, they’ve also been handed defeats by Bosnia-Herzegovina, Finland, North Macedonia and Gibraltar.

It’s Armenia’s results away from home though which tell their own story as they’ve won just 1 of their last 10 matches on their travels without keeping a single clean sheet during this poor sequence of results.

Armenia’s lack of clean sheets on the road (they’ve achieved just 1 shut-out from their last 25 away matches) should hand the initiative to Greece here.

Betting Tips Verdict

Greece look the more solid outfit here and should grab the 3 points against Armenia’s leaky defence.
