Pablo Carreno Busta cheered a lot of people last year with his grand slam performances.

He made strides through to the quarterfinals of the French Open, before following up with a terrific semi-final at the US Open.

The track record of the Spaniards at the Australian Open, however, is nothing much to write home about.

He has not made it past the fourth round in any of his seven previous attempts.

At the 2019 Australian Open, Carreno Busta lost at this third round stage.

Pablo Carreno-Busta is at a quote of 6/5 in tennis betting to win this match* (odds taken 2000 GMT, Wednesday 10th February).

So the bookmakers don’t think he is totally out of this by any means.

He has made fairly comfortable progress through this draw so far.
