Halifax can edge a result against Chesterfield at The Shay

National League Tips

HALIFAX TOWN v CHESTERFIELD

Saturday 13th October 2018 – Kickoff: 1715hrs

Football – England – National League Betting Tips

From Sofia to Halifax, and the evening kick-off in the National League features two former Football League clubs going head to head with Halifax Town playing host to Chesterfield as the betting tips continue at The Shay.

Halifax sit mid-table in the National League as their season so far has been solid results gained on home turf, but performances away from home have prevented them from attaining a top half position in the non-league top flight to date.

It’s now eight matches without a win for the home side, but this sequence does include five draws into the bargain, while their home record stands at a reasonable looking  4-2-1  10/4. Their one defeat so far was to a revived Hartlepool United side, but recent wins over Dagenham & Redbridge and Gateshead as well as points taken off high-flying Leyton Orient and Fylde suggest The Shaymen are a tough side to beat on home soil.

Forwards Southwell (4 goals) and Kosylo (2 goals) are the danger men for Halifax.

Onto Chesterfield, and it’s been a thoroughly miserable campaign so far for the recently relegated side under Martin Allen but they continue to fight and the visitors have picked up two points from their last two matches which ended in 1-1 and 0-0 draws with Maidstone United and Fylde respectively.

However, following last season’s relegation from League Two, The Spireites started their new National League campaign with three wins on the trot with victories against Ebbsfleet United, Aldershot Town and Braintree Town, and they must have been dreaming of a quick return to the Football League.

However, Chesterfield have since gone 12 matches without a win overall and have managed just one win away from home so far this season which was the Ebbsfleet victory, but an overall away record of  1-2-4  7/10 tells its own story.

Forward Zavon Hines (3 goals) returns from suspension and Kiwomya arrived on loan from Doncaster Rovers and will be named in Allen’s squad for this clash.

Both sides aren’t in the best of form, but my betting tips suggest value with Halifax and the handicap for this one.
