Halifax Prediction – Can Halifax extend lead at top?

3 wins out of their last 4 matches overall in the National League has taken Halifax to the top of the non-league top flight table with a 2-point cushion ahead of 2nd placed Bromley prior to Tuesday night’s important date with strugglers, Chorley, at The Shay.

Recent wins against Barnet 4-2, Dover Athletic 2-0 and a 1-0 win against Maidenhead United have been impressive results for Halifax, with the latter victories both being achieved away from home.

Halifax now return to home turf to their Shay ground where they’ve won 5 of their first 7 matches of this season and hold an overall record of 5-0-2 13/7 although recent defeats to Yeovil Town and Harrogate Town should see the hosts fully switched on for this clash as they look to chalk up another three points.

Midfielder King (5 goals) along with forwards McAlinden (7 goals) and Sho-Silva (4 goals) have been amongst the goals for the hosts so far this term, and The Shaymen have won 5 of the last 6 meetings against Chorley.

Chorley Prediction – Can Chorley pick up first away win of season?

This looks like being an extremely tough task for Chorley as they prepare to make their way to The Shay, sitting second from bottom in the National League and still waiting to register their first away win of the season.

Although the visitors have suffered just 1 defeat out of their last 6 matches in the non-league top flight which has undoubtedly seen Chorley steady the ship, they’ve managed just 1 win out of their 15 matches played to date this season, which came in the shape of a 3-0 home win against fellow newly-promoted side, Stockport County.

However, an away record of 0-4-3 5/14 sees the visitors yet to convince on their travels and a point appears to be the best they can hope for at Halifax here, but given their poor recent record against The Shaymen even a draw may be out of reach.

Draws at AFC Fylde, Sutton United, Dover Athletic and Dagenham & Redbridge have been outweighed by defeats at Maidenhead United, Notts County and Harrogate Town, while only Wrexham (17) and AFC Fylde (18) have conceded more away goals than Chorley to date this season.

Key-Facts – Halifax v Chorley

  • Halifax have won 3 of their last 4 matches in the National League

  • The Shaymen have won 5 of the last 6 meetings against Chorley

Betting Tips Verdict

Halifax have been in pretty good form at home this season and they should outgun Chorley on Tuesday night to maintain top spot.
