It has the look of a massive weekend in the Scottish Premiership as the top four play each other. First up is fourth placed Hibs hosting Celtic who remain second best in the current standings.

Jack Ross won’t be getting too carried away with his team’s 4-1 win at home to Dundee in the League Cup last weekend, but it does at least get Hibs back on the winning trail after severe disappointments against Hearts and Aberdeen before that. It will also put them in a much better frame of mind for the visit of Celtic tomorrow. Hibs will also take confidence from the fact that they have not lost at home to the Hoops in the last four meetings at Easter Road.
If Hibs are to continue that record then they will have to find a similar level of performance to the one that earned them a 2-2 draw against Rangers earlier in the season.
Celtic Preview – Will Celtic continue where they left off before the break to keep the pressure on leaders Rangers?
After being thumped 4-1 at home to Sparta Prague in the Europa League, Celtic could ill-afford to take anything less than three points away to Motherwell next time out. Particularly as it was the last game before the international break. Neil Lennon got the performance he was looking for and a hat-trick from the impressive Mohamed Elyounoussi led them to a valuable three points.
With no international breaks now until March, Celtic and Lennon know this is a critical part of the season in their bid to clinch a tenth consecutive league title. They sit nine points behind Rangers but do have two games in hand.

Scoring goals is not the issue for Celtic or the reason they have dropped points in recent games. It’s at the other end of the pitch where the champions are struggling. The win over Aberdeen in the semi-final of the Scottish Cup is the only clean sheet in their last seven games. And that needs to improve.
With three home games to come against bottom six opposition after this game, it will be a run of games Celtic will be hoping to cut into that deficit from.
