That win was a 2-1 home victory over 12th placed Werder Bremen, but recent defeats to Eintracht Frankfurt, Augsburg, Borussia Dortmund, Leipzig and Bayern Munich has meant that Hannover have been unable to lift themselves up into the top half of the Bundesliga.
Throw in an ordinary looking away record of 2-6-7 13/23 which includes ten matches without a win on the road ahead of Friday night’s trip to Hoffenheim, and you can see that it’s likely to be a tall order for the visitors to get anything out of this encounter.
