Huddersfield Town Prediction

It’s been an extremely tough second season in the Premier League for Huddersfield Town and the pressures and stresses of top flight football have taken its toll on the Yorkshire club as they parted ways with former manager David Wagner, again proving that winning promotion to the Premier League is one thing, but failing to keep the club in the division is unfortunately another.

Huddersfield sit rock bottom of the Premier League with just 11 points to their name having lost 9 of their last 10 league matches and scoring just 5 goals for but conceding a total of 18 goals during this barren 10-match spell which resulted in The Terriers gaining just one point from a possible 30 on offer.

The Terriers’ home record stands at a woeful 1-2-9 5/19 and although they should at least avoid the ignominy of gaining the joint lowest points tally in a Premier League season (currently held by Derby County with 11), losing their last five home matches on the trot doesn’t provide much comfort.

Key-Facts – Huddersfield Town v Everton

  • Huddersfield Town have lost their last 5 home matches on the trot
  • Huddersfield Town are the lowest goalscorers at home in the EPL
  • Everton are unbeaten in their 3 previous encounters against Huddersfield

Everton Prediction

Everton have slowly but steadily dropped down the Premier League table down to 11th place in recent weeks and whilst the visitors’ plight is nowhere near as desperate as Huddersfield Town’s, the pressure is starting to mount on Toffees’ boss Marco Silva as his side have slumped to three defeats in their last four matches.

Losses to Brighton, Leicester City and Southampton, all very winnable matches for this Everton outfit, have all ended in defeats and the natives are once again starting to get restless. Failure to grab all three points at a beleaguered Huddersfield Town could have serious repercussions for Silva.

In addition, Everton have lost four of their last five on their travels amidst an overall record of 2-3-6 14/17 which includes defeats at Liverpool, Manchester City, Brighton and Southampton, but their one salvation ahead of this fixture is that Everton are unbeaten in their three previous encounters with Huddersfield Town, winning two of these.

Betting Tips Verdict

Huddersfield’s new manager, Jan Siewart has a hell of a job on his hands and this game probably comes too soon for his fresh approach to take effect. This is a ‘must win’ game for Everton and they should just about edge this one, but use the handicap!
