Premier League action returns this weekend following the top flight and Championship’s teams’ involvement in the third round of the FA Cup, and hosts Huddersfield Town, will be looking to build upon their 2-1 win away at Bolton Wanderers in last week’s cup success, when they take on West Ham at the John Smith’s Stadium.
So far, Huddersfield have confounded their critics as they sit in a comfortable mid-table position in the Premier League where they’ve held their own for the most part of the season to date, and their home form has been solid with just three defeats so far this term.
The Terriers hold a stubborn looking record of 4-4-3 10/12 and while the goals have hardly been flying in, David Wagner has moulded a side that are hard to beat and have recorded five clean sheets to date, as well as upsetting the big clubs such as Manchester United in a 2-1 win back in October.
West Ham make their way up to Yorkshire with the London club now appearing to be on the up after some recent encouraging results which have seen The Hammers collect wins over Chelsea, Stoke City and West Brom, although two of these wins were at their London Stadium.
Whilst some may argue West Ham are still not fully at ease on home turf, it’s been their results away from home that have let them down so far this season – something manager, David Moyes, will no doubt be keen to address.
West Ham possess an away record of 1-5-6 13/25 and although they’re unbeaten in their last three on the road, they’ve yet to really turn the corner on their travels I feel.
