Huddersfield Town and Wycombe Wanderers meet at the John Smith’s Stadium in the EFL Championship this Saturday. The Chairboys are rock bottom of the second-tier table, picking up just three wins so far. As for Terriers, they are only five points clear of the drop zone with 33 points to their name. Will Carlos Corberan’s men see off the league’s bottom team and claim a huge three points on home soil?

Huddersfield Town Preview – Can the Terriers pick up a priceless three points?
Carlos Corberan left Leeds United’s youth setup to take over at the John Smith’s Stadium at the start of this season. The Spaniard has had a mixed time in West Yorkshire to this point, guiding the Terriers to nine wins from 28 league games. Town have drawn six and lost 13 of the other 19.
Huddersfield have yet to win a game since the turn of the year. After a 2-1 home win over Blackburn Rovers, the Terriers have taken just two points from a possible 18. However, having suffered four straight defeats, Huddersfield have stopped the rot by drawing their last two.
Town have failed to win any of their last four at home, drawing one and losing three. Prior to that, though, Huddersfield won five in a row at the John Smith’s. They could certainly do with a home victory this weekend to ease some of the pressure.
Wycombe Wanderers Preview – Chairboys to suffer an 18th league defeat?
Wycombe Wanderers, last season’s EFL League One play-off winners, have had an extremely tough time in the Championship. Having taken a mere 16 points from 27 Championship games, Wanderers are nailed on for relegation back to the third tier.
Wycombe picked up a 2-1 win over Cardiff City at Adams Park in late December, which remains their only league success since 4th November. After the surprise victory against the Bluebirds, Wanderers have taken just one point from a possible 15.

Wycombe are a whopping 12 points off safety, so Gareth Ainsworth’s boys are playing for pride more than anything else. Nevertheless, can the Buckinghamshire outfit upset Huddersfield this weekend?
Huddersfield Town vs Wycombe Wanderers Betting Advice
Back in November, the pair played out a forgettable goalless draw at Adams Park. That was the first meeting since Huddersfield walloped Wycombe 6-0 in a League One meeting back in January 2012. Wanderers have not beaten Town since December 1994.
Key Facts – Huddersfield Town vs Wycombe Wanderers Betting Tip
- Huddersfield have won six and drawn three of their last nine fixtures with Wycombe
- Three of the last seven meetings have ended in goalless draws
- Wycombe have the poorest away record in the Championship
Wycombe have been woeful on the road, taking a pitiful five points from a possible 39. They have won just once away from home, losing ten of 13. Unfortunately for Ainsworth’s boys, we can see them crashing to yet another Championship defeat this weekend.
Even though they have failed to win at home in four, Huddersfield have one of the best home records in the Championship, with only six clubs picking up more home points thus far. Corberan’s men will want to get back to winning ways on home soil at the weekend. We like the look of the hosts to be winning at half time and full time at 7/4.
