It was a short spell away from La Liga for Huesca who suffered relegation in 2018/19 but bounced back in style when win the Segunda Division last time around. Diego Simeone’s men made up for lost time with an emphatic win at home to Granada. With doubts over Barcelona and Real Madrid and the depth to their squads, this does look an ideal opportunity for Atletico to really challenge the top two. That’s been said before, however, and it’s not materialised. Simeone and all concerned with the club will be hoping it’s not a false dawn.
