League C Group 2 looks set to go down to the wire on Sunday evening and my first pick of this group features Hungary taking on Finland as the betting tips continue.
There are numerous permutations, but Hungary need all three points in this encounter to give them the best chance of avoiding possible relegation down to League D, but they’ll also be hoping that bottom nation, Estonia, can do them a favour by getting a result against Greece.
Hungary sit in third place with 7 points following home wins over Greece 2-1 and a 2-0 home win over Estonia, but defeats away at Finland and Greece have meant that they’ll be sweating on this final day of the group stages.
With just two wins from their last nine matches overall it doesn’t look too positive, but the hosts have won their last two matches on the trot at the Groupama Aréna, and with Szalai (3 goals), they’ll fancy their chances of finishing strong here.
Onto Finland, and they missed the opportunity to seal their promotion up to League B recently when they lost 1-0 away at second placed Greece, so they now have to at least avoid defeat in Budapest on Sunday night in order to go up.
Finland currently sit top of Group 2 but their lead has been eroded to three points ahead of this crucial final set of fixtures, and with Greece holding home advantage again on Sunday to face bottom nation Estonia, Finland will be desperate not to be pipped by the Greeks at the finish post.
Finland’s cause was helped by three home matches in their first four matches of the group all of which they won, but away from home the visitors have been less consistent overall in recent times with four defeats, three wins and two draws.
Striker Teemu Pukki (3 goals) leads the way for Finland here.
Neither side look odds on to win this match so my betting tips suggest backing both teams to score as they look to avoid relegation and achieve promotion respectively.
