What a showdown we have here in the semi-finals of the Coppa Italia in midweek.

It’s Inter Milan v Juventus for a place in the final. The winner of this tie will face either Napoli or Atalanta in the final itself.

With a recent league success earned over Juventus, it is Inter who are the favourites for success.

The pressure is on though, can they deliver?

Inter Milan Preview – Can Inter follow up against the Old Lady?

Just back on January 17th, Inter played host to Juventus in Serie A and they produced a 2-0 win.

In the match outright for this Coppa Italia semi-final tie, Inter are 13/10 for the win* (odds recorded 21:12 GMT Sunday, 31st January).

In the quarter-finals, they had a tough game on their hands as they faced rivals AC Milan.

It was a late comeback that Inter produced in that one to come out on top 2-1, helped by Milan losing Zlatan Ibrahimovic to a red card midway through the second half.

In their one other cup fixture this season, Inter claimed a 2-1 away win at Fiorentina.

Across all competitions Inter are undefeated in their last six games (90 minutes), winning three of those.

They have suffered just one loss since a Champions League reverse against Real Madrid on November 25th last year.

They do continue to score well and consistently do Inter.

Inter have scored at least two goals in five of their last six games.

Even though this is a tight, high-pressure situation, we would expect goals.

So for Coppa Italia football betting, we are looking over 2.5 goals at 9/10* (odds recorded 21:12 GMT Sunday, 31st January).

This is a home fixture for Inter and it’s worth examining their home form in a little closer detail.

It’s good.

Inter have won their last six home games in all competitions. They have hit at least two goals in each of their last five.

Granted, they haven’t been great in defence as they have taken only four clean sheets in fourteen home fixtures across all competitions.

But the scoring threat of Antonio Conte’s men speaks for itself and it could get them close to success.

The last time they met Juventus in the Coppa Italia, Inter claimed a 3-0 win in March 2016.

Juventus Preview – Juventus not to be counted out

You cannot write off Juventus too easily of course. Most of the recent head to head has gone their way.

Juventus are W5 D2 L1 in their last eight games against Inter.

That’s a pretty good record and Juventus are 19/10 in the match outright for Tuesday’s game* (odds recorded 21:12 GMT Sunday, 31st January).

So what kind of form are they carrying?

They are well in the title race in Serie A of course, although it has been a tougher battle than usual.

Across all competitions, Juventus are now on a four-match winning streak.

They have won seven of their last nine actually (D1 L1) and there has been a big recent trend with them.

Each of the last four wins for Juventus have been with a clean sheet.

So they have found a bit of form at the back as well, which means that they are going to pose a threat.

It’s worth noting their scoring output.

Juventus have scored at least two goals in ten of their last eleven games in all competitions.

The only time that they didn’t was in their recent 2-0 league defeat at Inter.

That league defeat at the San Siro is the only away defeat that Juventus have suffered in all competitions.

They have won five of the last six on the road and again, it’s all about their scoring output.

Juve have scored at least two goals in all but one of their last six away games.

So that just makes this a fascinating contest. In their two Coppa Italia games so far this season, Juventus have tallied seven goals.

Inter Milan vs Juventus Betting Advice

That league defeat at Inter seems to have really shaken up Juventus. They haven’t conceded in any of their four games since.

So we are actually going to back Juventus here at 9/2 because of that* (odds recorded 21:12 GMT Sunday, 31st January).

They are very consistent in front of goal and probably will have taken some serious lessons from that league defeat.

Key Facts – Inter Milan vs Juventus Betting Tip

  • Inter Milan beat Juventus recently in the league
  • Inter Milan have won only one of their last eight against Juventus
  • Juventus have lost one away game all season in all competitions

Inter may not even have made it here if it weren’t for AC Milan collapsing under the pressure of playing with ten men in the quarter-finals.

The defence of Inter just isn’t watertight and although they handled Juve last time, we expect the visitors to come up with something different.

So we see both teams scoring and for our longer odds option, a Juventus to win & Both Teams To Score option is at 9/2* (odds recorded 21:12 GMT Sunday, 31st January).
