Inter Milan Preview – Will Inter make it eight league wins in a row to remain top of Serie A?
There was frustration for Simone Inzaghi and his Inter Milan players on Thursday. Their first game scheduled back after the winter break (against Bologna) was postponed at short notice. Not only did it prevent the leaders from getting back into action, it also allowed their main title rivals – AC Milan – to narrow the gap at the top to just one point. With Milan playing earlier on the Sunday, it means Inter could well be off top spot come the time they kick off in this one.
Inzaghi won’t be overly concerned by that and just hoping that his team pick up where they left off before the break.
Inter are on a seven match winning run in the league and haven’t lost a game since the 16th October – ironically enough that was when facing Lazio in Rome – losing 3-1. It has been a brilliant response since, though, picking up 30 points from a possible 36. A similar run would almost certainly see them retain their league title.
Their form at home is even more impressive of late. They’ve not lost at home at the San Siro in Serie A this season, winning seven and drawing two. And they have kept four clean sheets in their last five.
Lazio Preview – Can Lazio get what would be a crucial three points in the race for top four?
It was never going to be anything else but Maurizio Sarri’s time in charge of Lazio has certainly not been boring. Once Inzaghi moved on after five years in charge there was bound to be a more unsettled and unpredictable look about this club and that’s the way it’s went. Lazio are in eighth spot following a 3-3 draw with Empoli in midweek. In a game they were never ahead and had to rely on an added time equaliser they can’t be too disappointed.
However, a home match against a team below them would have been one they would be expecting to win. Failing to do so means they still haven’t won three straight under Sarri.

There has been some real highlights including the win over Inter as well as a derby success against Roma. However they have also suffered defeats by three goals of more on three occasion (all away from home) and have conceded more goals on the road than all but two of the other teams in the division.
Ciro Immobile continues to be the main threat even at 31. He’s second top scorer in Serie A with 14 goals, Pedro and Milinkovic-Savic are sitting on seven each but there is a real drop-off after that.
