The winner of this Coppa Italia quarter-final match on Wednesday will move forward to face Napoli in the semi-finals. It is Inter, with home soil advantage, who are the favourites win through the fixture.
However, Fiorentina did pull off an upset in the previous round as they found a way to battle Atalanta. Can the Viola secure an away success at the San Siro?

Inter can ease past Fiorentina
Inter have had a strong winning touch desert them really since the beginning of December last year. They have won just three of their last nine games across all competitions (D5 L1). The one win that they have banked in their last four games (D3 – all 1-1 results) happened in the last round of the Coppa Italia.
That was a convincing 4-1 success over Cagliari. There has been a trend with the recent games of both teams scoring. That has happened in each of Inter’s last five fixtures and in seven of their last eight. There have only been two losses for Inter on home soil across all competitions this season. They were against Juventus in the league and Barcelona in the Champions League.
It was at this stage of last season’s campaign that Inter fell from the tournament. That was via a penalty shootout against Lazio. There has only been one home game played by Inter this season in which they have failed to score. That was in a draw with Roma back in early December. Going back to the both teams to score trend, it has happened in each of Inter’s last three home games (conceding 1 goal exactly in each).
Fiorentina will likely come up short in the cup tie
Fiorentina hosted Inter in the league just back in December and picked up a 1-1 home draw. While they have a pretty handy home record going against Inter, Fiorentina have lost their last three trips to the San Siro, conceding at least two goals in each of those trips. This will be the third Coppa Italia fixture between the two clubs. Fiorentina lost the other two.
This is the first time they have met in the Cup since 2010 when Inter won both legs of their semi final tie 1-0. From early November through to their return from winter break in early January, Fiorentina posted a W1 D3 L5 record in a terrible run of form. That lone win streak happened at home against Citadella in the fourth round of this Coppa Italia campaign.

Fiorentina have recovered a bit since then, however, with an unbeaten W3 D2 record in their last five played. In the last round of the tournament, they scored a superb 2-1 home success against the free-scoring Atalanta. But the away form of the Viola still looks pretty questionable. They are W1 D1 L3 in their last five road games. They did, however, produce a shock three points at Napoli in their last road trip in the league.
Inter vs Fiorentina Betting Advice
Antonio Conte’s Inter are not as tight at the back as they would like to be, so it is well worth looking at both teams getting on the scoresheet in the fixture. That looks like a very reasonable proposition.
