Football – England – Championship Betting Tips

Championship basement dwellers, Ipswich Town, play host to Bristol City as the betting tips continue in Wednesday night’s edition of the Championship.

Despite losing 2-1 at home to West Brom last Friday night, I thought Ipswich gave a good account of themselves as they gave play-off candidates West Brom a run for their money. The temp was considerably higher than when Paul Hurst was in charge, but the hosts need to convert the points to get off the mark at Portman Road on Wednesday night.

Ipswich have managed just one win all season which was a 3-2 win away at Swansea City but a home record of  0-6-3  7/12 needs something in the win column sooner rather than later. Paul Lambert has a few attacking options with creative midfielder Edwards (4 goals) along with forwards Jackson and Sears (2 goals apiece).

Bristol City were handed a 2-0 defeat away at Elland Road against high-flying Leeds United on Saturday afternoon which means The Robins slumped to a fourth defeat on the trot in the Championship.

Previous losses to Stoke City, Reading, Preston North End and Leeds United have resulted in Bristol City slipping down to 14th place and although they have a five point cushion ahead of the relegation zone, manager Lee Johnson is coming under increasing pressure to start getting results.

The visitors possess an away record of  3-2-4 11/12 but they’ve managed just one win from their last six matches on their travels which was a 1-0 win at Brentford. City make their way to Suffolk looking to avoid a third consecutive defeat on the trot on the road here.

Ipswich manager Paul Lambert has injected some much needed enthusiasm and work-rate and the betting tips suggest the hosts can get at least a point here.
