Football – England – Championship Betting Tips

There’s also action from the Championship this Friday evening when bottom club Ipswich Town take on promotion hopefuls West Brom as the betting tips continue at Portman Road.

Ipswich Town find themselves in a real mess at the bottom of the Championship with just 11 points to their name ahead of this important clash, but after a run of three straight defeats to QPR,  Leeds and Millwall new manager Paul Lambert has steadied the ship with Ipswich taking points off Preston North End and Reading in recent times.

Former manager, Paul Hurst was shown the door after Ipswich had made a terrible start to the new season which saw the Tractor Boys win just one of their first 14 matches of the season, but the recent stalemates with Preston and Reading perhaps show signs of a possible recovery.

Ipswich possess a home record of  0-6-2  6/10 as they still search for their first home win of the season, but there’s an angle; 5 of their 8 home matches have resulted in both teams scoring and with home advantage on Friday night, Ipswich could score again here.

West Brom’s recent poor run of results in the Championship came to an end just before the international break when they thrashed Leeds United 4-1 at The Hawthorns which the away side hope re-ignites their season.

Recent losses to Wigan Athletic, Derby County and Hull City threatened to de-rail West Brom’s promotion hopes but the emphatic win over Leeds shows that The Baggies still mean business as they seek a swift return to the Premier League.

However, things haven’t all gone West Brom’s way, particularly away from home as their away record of  2-3-3  11/12 indicates, a record that includes losses at Middlesbrough, Wigan Athletic and Hull City.

The visitors have goals in them though with the likes of midfield pair Phillips (5 goals) and Barnes (6 goals) along with forwards Gayle (9 goals) and Rodriguez (8 goals).

Friday night football can throw up a few surprises but the betting tips suggest backing both teams to score here.
