Football – Europe – Champions League Betting Tips

Well, here it is, the grand finale to the european footballing calendar which is the Champions League final, and the venue of the National Stadium in Cardiff is set to provide us with a real treat of footballing expertise, and a battle between Italian giants, Juventus, and the Spanish powerhouse of Real Madrid for the right to claim the Champions League trophy.

Looking at Juventus first, and on the domestic front, they claimed the Serie A title by a four point margin ahead of runners-up Roma, and The Old Lady are now in line for the double as they make their preparations for Saturday evening.

Following the group phase of the competition, much hype surrounded the French club, Monaco, as people and pundits alike were intrigued to see how far the municipality could go in this prestigious event. On the other hand, Juventus seemingly continued to fly under the radar a little, but when the time came, they saw off Monaco 4-1 over the two legs.

Not to mention the little matter of disposing of highly fancied Barcelona in the previous round with the aggregate score of 3-0! This evening’s game is essentially an away match for both sides though, and Juventus have won five of their last six on the road at this level.

Potential anytime goalscorers include the likes of prolific striker Higuain (24 goals) along with Dybala (11 goals), Mandzukic (7 goals) and the midfield pair of Pjanic and Khedira (5 goals apiece).

Onto Real Madrid, and they have continued to sweep aside all competition, both domestically, and on the european front as they’ve reached the Champions League final with some aplomb, seeing off the likes of Napoli, Bayern Munich and fellow compatriots, Atletico Madrid, although they were given a run for their money in the second leg, losing 2-1 at Atletico.

A La Liga title captured at the expense of fierce rivals Barcelona is one thing, but to be crowned winners of the Champions League would really rub salt into an already sensitive wound as far as Barca are concerned, and Real Madrid have the personnel to achieve just that.

The attacking trio of Ronaldo (25 goals), Morata (15 goals) and Benzema (11 goals) are all set to start, while Gareth Bale has been cleared to play, but manager Zidane may well opt to stick with Isco (10 goals) in midfield.

As a footnote, Real have won three, drawn two and lost one on the road so far in this season’s Champions League to date.

This fixture throws up so many different permutations, and so I’ve decided to provide three betting options for you in this, the game of the season!
