Juventus Preview – Can Juve make it three straight league wins for the first time this season?
It’s not been straightforward for Juventus in the early part of Andrea Pirlo’s tenure but there are signs that they are beginning to get their act together and find the consistency they need to achieve their objectives. Juve remain unbeaten in Serie A but they have drawn five of their 11 games thus far which has given both Milan clubs an advantage in the early part of the season.
It’s still very fine margins domestically, however, as Sunday’s game at Genoa proved. With just over 10 minutes remaining Cristiano Ronaldo scored the first of his two penalties to secure a 3-1 win for the champions when it looked like another share of the points was more likely.
Atalanta Preview – Will Atalanta turn in another big away performance to get their domestic season moving?
Atalanta gained a much needed league win at the weekend when brushing Fiorentina aside at home. The 3-0 success was the first win in four league games and halted an unwanted slide down the table. The fact it came immediately after qualifying for the knockout stage of the Champions League will give the whole club encouragement that they can begin climbing up to the top four in Serie A which will once again be their aim.
It’s not all been harmonious at the club of late, however, with their captain Papu Gomez being frozen out since a fallout with coach Gian Piero Gasperini at half-time in a Champions League game.

Gomez is such an influential player that it’s understandable his absence will be having an significant impact but it does look like he’s played his last game for Atalanta. And as they are not scoring at the same rate of the last couple of seasons it may see a slightly different approach for the time being.
Atalanta will be confident they can trouble their opponents tomorrow and get a result. The defeat away to Napoli earlier in the season was their first away loss in 15 matches and just their second in the last 30 away games in all competitions.
Juventus vs Atalanta Betting Advice
This has become a real standout fixture in Serie A over the last couple of seasons and tomorrow’s should be another really interesting encounter. Juventus are slowly getting into their stride and will be wanting to put a run of wins together whilst Atalanta will be hoping they have turned the corner after a sticky patch.
The visitors have drawn on their previous two visits to this stadium so they know they can cause the champions problem.
Key Facts – Juventus vs Atalanta Betting Tip
- Despite not being at their dominant best Juventus are now only four points behind leaders Milan
- Atalanta have lost only one of their last 15 away games in all competitions and two in their last 30
- The last two meetings between the sides in Turin have both ended in draws
Juventus’ home record is excellent with 20 wins in 26 Serie A games but they have been more vulnerable this season. Atalanta are equally as consistent on their travels and they are better value in this contest. Back them on the double chance market meaning either a win or draw sees a return.
