Juventus Preview – Can Juve build on their excellent cup victory and ensure they remain close in the title race?
It may have been the first leg of a Coppa Italia semi-final, but there was something familiar about Juventus’ 2-1 win away to Inter Milan in midweek. Juve have beaten Milan at the same venue in the league already this season but they failed to build on that. Andrea Pirlo will be hoping that his team can go on a run now which sees them move closer to the top two with a view to retaining their title.
Juve are fourth at this point in the season – something that is very unfamiliar for them. But they are just seven points behind leaders Milan whom they have a game in hand over.
Roma Preview – Do Roma have what it takes to beat the champions and be considered genuine title contenders?
In the immediate aftermath of the 3-0 loss in the Rome derby against arch rivals Lazio, there was a lot of uncertainty over their future of Paulo Fonseca. Fallouts with senior players and doubts around the team’s overall improvement under his charge, as well as some other issues, meant it looked inevitable Roma would be looking for a new manager. As it is, the team have went on to win two games, move into third spot and Edin Dzeko has mended ways with Fonseca – albeit the striker will no longer be captain.
Roma’s two wins have come at home to Spezia and Verona – two matches they would be expecting to win but were essential considering everything that has been going on.

Dzeko has been and continues to be such a crucial player for Roma that the news he is staying is a huge bonus for the team and their hopes of finishing in the top four – at the very least. The Bosnian is on seven league goals for the season and forming a strong partnership with Borja Mayoral.
If Roma are to get a victory on Saturday then you sense they will have to defend better. Their concession of 33 goals is the most of any side in the top half of the table.
Juventus vs Roma Betting Advice
The teams played out a very entertaining 2-2 draw in the Italian capital earlier in this season and that follows a recent trend which has seen at least three goals in the last four matches and both teams scoring in all of them. Roma will hope they can have a similar impact to last season when they won away to Juventus for the first time since 2011.
