Group D starts us off with this week’s match day five of the Nations League with Kazakhstan taking on Latvia as the betting tips continue on the international stage.
After losing their opening Group 1 match at home to Georgia 2-0, Kazakhstan have responded in positive fashion by collecting valuable points on the road in back-to-back 1-1 draws at Andorra and Latvia as well as securing a valuable three points with a resounding 4-0 home win over Andorra last time out.
Kazakhstan have emerged as the ‘best of the rest’ in the group behind Georgia who lead the group with a seven point margin over tonight’s hosts, but Kazakhstan have a great opportunity to close the gap on the leaders with a win on Thursday night.
Latvia currently occupy third place but level on 2 points with bottom nation, Andorra, ahead of their trip to the Astana Arena with a difficult looking task on their plate of trying to take something out of this encounter.
Latvia are without a win from their last six internationals in all competitions, and recent defeats to Azerbaijan and home and away losses to Georgia have also sealed their fate in the Nations League too.
With a massive 10 point gap between themselves and group leaders, Georgia, Latvia have absolutely no chance of progressing any further and now only have pride left to play for as they look to avoid the wooden spoon in Group 1.
Latvia have now gone 12 away matches without a win too in all competitions, so a trip to Kazakhstan is also looking likely to end up in defeat, with my betting tips advising a home win here for Kazakhstan.
