Kilmarnock Preview – Can Killie cause an upset at Rugby Park?

Alex Dyer’s Kilmarnock kicked off the new season with a narrow away defeat at Easter Road last weekend. Two first-half Martin Boyle goals did the damage for Hibernian, with Chris Burke’s 44th-minute effort being no more than a consolation goal for Killie.

Kilmarnock, who finished eighth last term, were not an easy team to beat at Rugby Park in last year’s Premiership. In fact, they lost just four home league matches, with Rangers, Motherwell, Celtic and Hibs being the only teams to win on their patch. Along the way, Killie only conceded 15 home goals.

Our betting prediction:
Celtic to win both halves
13/10

Last Saturday’s loss in Edinburgh was a setback for Killie, but Dyer’s troops must dust themselves down immediately, as the Scottish champions are sure to take no prisoners in East Ayrshire.

Kilmarnock are the big underdogs in this one, with the bookies pricing them a 12/1 to win on home turf. Still, can they defy the odds and cause a huge upset on matchday two?

Celtic Preview – Can the Celts claim another big Premiership victory?

Neil Lennon’s Celtic are gunning for a record tenth Scottish Premiership title on the spin this season. The Hoops have been the top dogs in Scotland for the last decade, and the Bhoys are showing no signs of letting up.

The champions got their 2020-21 season up and running with a handsome home win over Hamilton Academical last Sunday. The prolific Odsonne Edouard helped himself to a hat-trick, while Jeremie Frimpong and Patryk Klimala were also on the scoresheet in the 5-1 romp at Celtic Park.
