Luis Enrique takes his Spain side to the Fadil Vokrri Stadium in Pristina this Wednesday to face Kosovo in a 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier. The Spaniards are top of Group B with ten points to their name, though Sweden are just a point behind and have played two games fewer. No less than three points will do for La Roja this Wednesday. Kosovo Preview – Can the Kosovans upset the heavyweights?

Kosovo have come on leaps and bounds in recent years, and Bernard Challandes’ side are certainly capable of causing an upset. Victory on Wednesday would take the Kosovans to within just three points of Spain with a game in hand.

Kosovo have kicked off their qualifying campaign with one win, one draw and two defeats from their opening four fixtures. They started with a 3-0 home loss to the Swedes before losing 3-1 to Spain in game two. Kosovo then secured a much-needed 1-0 away win in Georgia on 2nd September before drawing 1-1 at home with Greece last Sunday.

Kosovo could reignite their top-two hopes with a positive result at the Fadil Vokrri Stadium in midweek. However, they are the huge underdogs at 14/1.

Spain Preview – La Roja to move on to 13 points?

Spain were the strong favourites to win Group B before a ball was kicked, but Luis Enrique’s men have not had it all their own way so far. The Spaniards have won three, drawn one and lost one, dropping five points. Nevertheless, they currently sit top of the group table.

Spain were held to a frustrating draw by Greece in Granada back in March. They then laboured to a 2-1 win in Georgia on matchday two. After a comfortable 3-1 home victory over Kosovo, Spain were beaten 2-1 by Sweden, which could turn out to be a crucial result. Still, Enrique’s troops struck back with a resounding 4-0 win over the Georgians last weekend.

With Sweden going great guns in Group B, Spain cannot afford to drop any points. The Spaniards and Swedes meet in Seville in the final game in November, which promises to be a cracker. Spain will be looking for an easy victory in Pristina on Wednesday.

Kosovo vs Spain Betting Advice

Spain cruised to a 3-1 win when the pair locked horns in the reverse matchup back in March. Dani Olmo put them in front in the first period, with Ferran Torres doubling their advantage just two minutes later. Kosovo pulled one back with 20 minutes to go, but Gerard Moreno restored Spain’s two-goal lead five minutes after.

Key Facts – Kosovo vs Spain Betting Tip

  • Spain won the reverse game 3-1
  • La Roja are top of Group B with ten points to their name
  • Kosovo have taken four points from their last two qualifiers

Spain will be gunning for all three points, especially after losing their last away game to Sweden. Kosovo can be a tough nut to crack on their day, but we fancy La Roja to claim a comfortable win in Pristina. Back the visitors to win both halves at 6/4.

Ferran Torres has been Spain’s main man in this qualifying campaign thus far, scoring three times, including one against Kosovo back in March. Put some money on the Manchester City man to open the scoring here at 9/2.
