It would be hard to believe before going into the prolonged break for COVID, but LASK find themselves in fourth spot. Deducted six points because of breaking social distancing rules during training earlier on in the pandemic, the team who have led the league for much of the season are now fourth in the Bundesliga.
LASK have not responded well to that setback, either, having failed to win either of their first two games back. A shock 2-1 defeat at home to Hartberg last midweek came before a 3-3- draw away to now second placed Wolfsberger. As a result, the Linz club are eight points behind RB Salzburg.

Having won four straight in the league before the layoff, including an impressive win in Salzburg, it was all looking so positive for LASK. They now have to find a way to regroup and at least chase down the second Champions League position.
Key to their hopes of recapturing that form will be Brazilian striker Klauss. The 23 year old is on 10 goals at the moment and is his team’s top scorer.

Just as their opponents have a talented and prolific striker, Rapid have one of their own. Greek hitman Taxiarchis Fountas is on 15 goals for the season. At 24 years old, and something of a journeyman, it’s already his best return of his career.
