Lazio Preview – Will Lazio bounce back from defeat last week to boost hopes of a top four finish?
Simone Inzaghi and his Lazio players will be looking to get back to winning ways following defeat to Inter Milan in the San Siro. Lazio are one of a number of teams in the battle for top four so the loss last week was a setback but they remain just two points behind fourth placed Juventus despite beings seventh, but they have played a game more than Juve.
Before that defeat Lazio were the form team in Serie A with six straight victories and that’s the sort of run they have to go on again if they are to finish above the other teams vying for the Champions League spots, which also includes Atalanta, Napoli and Roma.

Claudio Ranieri continues to keep Sampdoria performing to a level many thought they would be unable to sustain. Samp are are 10th coming into this weekend – five points clear of the team directly below them and looking good for a top-half finish. That objective is strengthened by their recent form which has seen them win three of their last five and losing just one (defeat to Juventus).
Before that, Sampdoria had actually won only three of their previous 13 so it’s a welcome return to good form. This will be a significant test, however.

Ranieri have won four away games so far this season with a 2-0 success against Parma their most recent win on their travels. That adds to victories against Atalanta, Fiorentina and Verona which shows they are capable of turning in a big performance on the road.
Veteran striker Fabio Quagliarella leads the scoring charts for Samp with eight goals and on course for a fifth straight season hitting double figures in the league for the club. He could play up front by former Lazio man Keita Balde. The forward is on loan from Monaco and has five goals in 11 games.
