Rivals Leeds United and Millwall go head-to-head at Elland Road in the EFL Championship on Tuesday night. Marcelo Bielsa’s boys will be desperate for maximum points on their own patch after a torrid run of results. However, Gary Rowett’s in-form Lions will fancy their chances in Yorkshire. We have the latest betting odds, tips and predictions for this tasty Championship clash.

Leeds United Preview – Can Bielsa’s boys shrug off their poor form and get back to winning ways on Tuesday?

Leeds United ended 2019 nine points clear of third place and top of the table after an incredible 5-4 win at Birmingham City. However, in 2020, the Whites have taken just one point from a possible nine. They also lost to Arsenal in the third round of the Emirates FA Cup.

Leeds have managed to stay on the coattails of current leaders West Bromwich Albion, who have also been in poor form of late. However, the chasing pack have caught up with the top two. Third-place Fulham are now just three points adrift of Leeds, while the likes of Nottingham Forest, Brentford and Preston North End – among other promotion hopefuls – are also close behind.

Our betting prediction:
Millwall to score first
53/20

The crazy win at St Andrew’s in late December remains Leeds’ only Championship victory in seven. Prior to that, United had won seven in a row. United’s next two are at Elland Road, as they entertain lowly Wigan Athletic this weekend after playing Millwall on Tuesday. Only six points will suffice for Leeds.

Millwall Preview – Will the Lions extend their unbeaten run in the Championship to six?

Millwall are one of the form teams of the Championship at the moment. The Lions are unbeaten in five, winning three and drawing two. Only Barnsley have beaten them in their past 13 in league action, picking up seven wins and five draws from the other 12.

In fact, Millwall have been very hard to beat under Rowett. The former Stoke City and Derby County manager took over in October, with just Reading and Barnsley beating them so far. The London side are two points off the top six at present, accumulating a respectable 44 points from 28 fixtures.

Millwall sealed their first away win of the season in November, beating Swansea City 1-0 at the Liberty Stadium. They are undefeated in six on the road, winning three and drawing three. Can the Lions claim all three points at Elland Road to send out a real signal of intent to their promotion rivals?

Leeds United vs Millwall Betting Advice

Millwall edged past ten-man Leeds at The Den back in October. Gaetano Berardi was sent off early on, with Jed Wallace scoring from the spot to put the Lions 1-0 up. The Londoners then doubled their advantage just before the break, with Tom Bradshaw getting on the scoresheet for the hosts. Ezgjan Alioski pulled one back but Millwall held on for the points.

Key Facts – Leeds United vs Millwall Betting Tip

  • Leeds have not won at Elland Road since beating Hull City 2-0 in mid-December
  • Millwall have won three and drawn three of their previous six away from home
  • United are just three points ahead of third place, while the Lions are two points away from the play-off positions

Millwall really are a tough nut to crack these days under Rowett. Out-of-sorts Leeds are the odds-on favourites, but I can see in-form Millwall leaving Elland Road with a valuable point on Tuesday. The draw is available at the decent odds of 31/10.

Millwall’s Jed Wallace has had a fine season in front of goal for the Lions. Wallace, who netted in the reverse match, has scored nine Championship goals thus far. The 25-year-old is priced at 12/1 to score the opening goal of this one.
