Leicester City Prediction – Can Leicester City continue improvement?

Sunday afternoon’s hosts eventually ended their season in 9th place in what was a season of two halves for Leicester City.

In actual fact, it was only until the second half of the season that the Leicester City board acted upon a poor sequence of results to make a change at the top.

Following a miserable run of 6 matches without a win in the Premier League, former coach, Claude Puel, was duly sacked.

5 defeats out of these 6 matches saw The Foxes suffer defeats to Southampton (Puel’s former club), Wolves, Manchester United, Tottenham and Crystal Palace.

Former Liverpool manager, Brendan Rodgers, took over the reigns at Leicester and his impact was almost instant as Leicester won 5 of the subsequent 10 matches under Rodgers.

With just 3 defeats from their final 10 matches of last season, Leicester City will now look to kick on under Rodgers, helped by the goalscoring exploits of striker, Jamie Vardy.

During Puel’s tenure, Vardy had been stifled and towards the end of the French manager’s reign, was even left on the bench which further hindered Leicester’s progress.

Under Rodgers though, Vardy was immediately reinstated up front and the impact was pivotal; 9 goals from the 10 matches in charge saw Vardy flourish up front again.

Wolves Prediction – Can Wolves emulate last season’s exploits?

It was a magnificent return to the Premier League for Wolves last season as the west midlands club reached 7th spot in the top flight.

This fantastic finish saw Wolves qualify for the Europa League where they’ve already accounted for Irish club, Crusaders, with a 6-1 aggregate win.

The visitors are also in the driving seat ahead of their 2nd leg clash with Armenian club, Pyunik, as they secured a 4-0 win away from home in their midweek 1st leg encounter.

Wolves will therefore make their way to the King Power Stadium in confident mood where they’ll be keen to make a good start to this new campaign.

A continuation to the end of their last campaign would be firmly in manager, Nuno Espirito Santos’s side as they won 3 of their last 4 matches of last term.

Wins against Arsenal, Watford and Fulham helped secure the all-important final European spot of 7th place, even though they lost their final match of the season.

A 2-0 loss away at title-chasing Liverpool at Anfield was no disgrace but Wolves will be keen to improve their form on their travels this term.

Wolves managed to register just 1 win out of their last 7 matches on the road which was a 2-1 win at Watford.
