February always looked like being a defining period for Brendan Rodgers and his Leicester City team. With a dramatic downturn in their league performances and results this season meaning there was little chance of qualifying for Europe, cup competitions was their only route back to the Europa League next season and the chance of bringing about some success for the club. Expectations have increased since Rodgers arrived in 2019 and winning the FA Cup last season only added to that.

Rodgers is coming under increasing pressure and knows this is a must win tie regardless of him being ignorant to it’s existence when Leicester were eliminated from the Europa League group stages.
A continuing theme of Leicester’s season is the number of goals they concede. The two shipped at the weekend mean they have lost 12 in their last five.

As tends to be case for Scandinavian teams who qualify for the knockout stages of European competition, they are thrust straight into these ties with no competitive football for weeks beforehand. Their domestic seasons are such that they stop in early winter before restarting in the coming weeks. It can be a hindrance for them but it is one they are used to and Randers travel to England knowing they have to be at their best following a series of friendly games leading up to this.
Their last game was the second leg of a domestic cup tie back in the middle of December which they were eventually knockout out of.

Randers qualified for this following a group stage where they won only once but the four points gained from draws was sufficient for them to finish second behind AZ and more importantly one point above Czech outfit Jablonec. Randers had earlier dropped into the competition having lost in the playoff round of the Europa League against Galatasaray.
Strike duo Alhadji Kamara and Stephen Odey scored twice each in the group stage and will carry most of the threat for them in this game.
