Levante occupy 10th place in La Liga just one position below their visitors but level on points ahead of this Friday evening encounter at their Estadio Ciudad de Valencia. The hosts had previously put together a three-match unbeaten run in La Liga with draws against Huesca and Eibar away from home in 2-2 and 4-4 draws respectively, along with a 3-0 home win over Athletic Bilbao.
However, recent back-to-back defeats to Barcelona 5-0 at home and a 2-1 loss away at Rayo Vallecano have put the hosts on the back foot while their home record of 3-1-4 13/19 lacks the consistency to challenge for a top half position in the division.
Levante have also managed just two clean sheets on home turf so far this season and have conceded 2 goals or more in 5 of their 8 home matches to date. Forwards Marti (8 goals) and Morales (5 goals) look set to continue up front for the hosts.
Girona Prediction
Girona sit just one place above Levante in 9th place in La Liga thanks to a slightly better goal difference, and they’re without a win from their last four matches overall with draws against Atletico Madrid and Getafe but also defeats to Athletic Bilbao and Sevilla, both of which were away from home.
Girona hit the road again this evening but before the two recent losses mentioned above, the visitors had been unbeaten on their travels this season with wins at Villarreal, Valencia and Espanyol as well as picking up points in draws at Barcelona, Huesca and Real Sociedad.
Girona are therefore very capable of avoiding defeat here, and with the likes of experienced Argentinian forward Stuani (11 goals) up front, they stand a decent chance of grabbing at least a point here.
