Levante will have to pick themselves up from what has been a really disappointing last 10 days. An agonising defeat in the semi-final of the Copa Del Rey against Athletic Bilbao will undoubtedly leave a mark so the 1-0 defeat away to Real Sociedad which followed it is probably to be expected. That loss to Sociedad ended an eight game unbeaten away run for Paco Lopez’ men. A run which seen them win in Madrid against both Atletico and Real.
That is the ability of this underrated outfit and is they level that they will be hoping to get back to in this one and for the remainder of the campaign.
Valencia Preview – Are poor travellers Valencia set for what would be a rare away victory?
The stripping of Valencia’s playing assets and general downsizing of the footballing side of the clubs means their aspirations these days are a lot more modest than they have been down the years. With 12 games of the league season left, they sit in 12th spot. Nowhere near a challenge of the European spots but probably just about safe from relegation due to having an eight point cushion over third bottom Eibar.
Like their opponents, the challenge is just attempting to finish as high as possible and a win here would take them above Levante and into the top 10 ahead of the rest of the weekend card.

One of the key reasons as to why Valencia are in their current position is their underwhelming away form. From 13 away matches in La Liga this season they have won just two – Away to Real Valladolid and Real Sociedad. Their seven defeats on the road is the joint second most in the league. It doesn’t inspire a huge amount of confidence coming into this one.
