The top two in Germany, Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich, are on a collision course for Signal Iduna Park this weekend. This therefore presents an opportunity for Bayer Leverkusen to cut into a six-point deficit on the Bundesliga summit, when they welcome the league’s bottom side to BayArena for what should be a routine victory for a side which has won four of its last five competitive fixtures.

They are yet to earn a point on the road, meanwhile, beaten by at least two goals in all but the 2-1 reverse at Hertha Berlin. A game they took the lead on the hour but still contrived to lose.
