The qualification positions have been confirmed in Group J but Liechtenstein are looking to end the campaign by gaining their first win against a Bosnian team who are able to finish third should they win and results go for them elsewhere.

Liechtenstein Preview – Can group minnows round off their campaign with first win?

It was always going to be a struggle for Liechtenstein to make any sort of impact in this group and so it has proven. There have been some encouraging performances and results along the way however, heading into the last game and they are bottom of the group without a win and conceding 28 goals in nine matches. It’s not unusual of course but Liechtenstein will take some confidence from the fact they have managed a couple of draws. Those have come at home to Armenia which was always likely to be their best chance of a victory, and away to Greece in a game where they were expected to get very little. Both of those matches ended 1-1 and are the only goals that Liechtenstein have managed so far in this group.

Bosnia and Herzegovina Preview – Are Bosnia capable and motivated enough to bounce back from heavy defeat to Italy?

Whichever way you look at this section it’s hard to get away from thinking that it’s a missed opportunity for Bosnia. Italy were always likely to be runaway winners of the group but second placed was well within their grasp. In the end Finland have proven to be the best of the others in Group J and have deservedly qualified for their first ever major tournament. The fact Bosnia come into this game in second bottom spot but can still finish third is an indication of how much themselves and Greece have under performed.

The Bosnians have won only three of their nine qualifiers and all three of them have come at home. One of them was a 4-1 success over Finland last month – a victory that reignited hope they could still make it to Euro 2020. Consecutive defeats to Greece and Italy have put paid to that however. A win for Bosnia on Monday and Armenia and Greece failing to win their games would see them finish in third which would be some very small consolation.

Key-Facts – Liechtenstein vs Bosnia and Herzogovina

  • With one game remaining it’s no surprise to see Liechtenstein still searching for their first win but they will be hopeful of an upset
  • It’s been a really disappointing qualification campaign for Bosnia who are currently second bottom
  • It was a 5-0 win for Bosnia when these sides first met in this group back in September

Liechtenstein vs Bosnia and Herzegovina Betting Advice

Whilst this campaign has been disappointing for Bosnia they do still have hopes of making to the next summer’s finals having guaranteed themselves a playoff via last year’s Nations League. Who they face in that contest remains to be seen but it’s a game they will have to hope is at home going by their form in this campaign.
It was a thumping five goal victory for Bosnia when these teams last met but it’s hard to be confident of them repeating as authoritative a victory on their travels. The Bosnians have lost all four of their away games so far in this group and may be vulnerable in these circumstances.  They have conceded at least two goals in all four matches and although Liechtenstein struggle for goals they may just have enough to get their third of the campaign tomorrow. Both teams to score is the selection.
