Ligue 1 Betting at Marathonbet

Lille Prediction

Lille occupy 2nd place in the Ligue 1 table but find themselves a massive 17 points adrift of runaway league leaders, PSG, who are on their way to claim another domestic league title. However, Lille hold a useful seven point lead over 3rd placed Lyon, and the hosts will be keen to make it a 10-point cushion ahead of this weekend’s action I daresay.

Lille bring a useful and impressive nine-match unbeaten run into this Friday night encounter which includes seven wins and two draws, while their recent results at home have seen Lille pick up three wins from their last four on home turf with wins against Amiens, Nice and Dijon amidst an overall record of 9-4-1 26/9.

Their one defeat so far was to Toulouse, but aside from that, Christophe Galtier’s side have been very hard to beat at their Stade Pierre-Mauroy and this has been the case for some time now as the hosts have lost just once in their last 17 home matches in Ligue 1.

Forwards Pepe (17 goals), Leao (7 goals) and Bamba (9 goals) have done the damage up front so far for Lille.

Key-Facts – Lille v Monaco

  • Lille are unbeaten in their last 9 matches overall in Ligue 1
  • Lille have lost just 1 of their last 17 home matches in Ligue 1
  • Monaco are without an away win from their last 5 matches in Ligue 1

Monaco Prediction

Following the disastrous tenure of former coach Thierry Henry who oversaw just four wins from his ill-fated 20 matches in charge of Monaco which threatened the Ligue 1 status of the club, it was left to an experienced manager in the shape of Leonardo Jardim to salvage the wreckage left by Henry and he’s made an immediate impact at the club.

Monaco were firmly entrenched in the relegation zone before Jardim came to the rescue and the visitors now sit in 17th place but hold a six-point cushion over third from bottom club Dijon who occupy the relegation play-off spot, thanks to an unbeaten run of six matches.

Wins against Toulouse, Nantes and most impressive of all, 3rd placed Lyon have lifted the municipality away from relegation danger, although it should be noted that all three wins were recorded at their Stade Louis II ground.

There’s still plenty of work to be done away from home as Monaco are without an away win from their last five matches on their travels amidst a below-par away record of 3-4-6 4/19 which includes recent defeats at Lyon and Dijon.

Betting Tips Verdict

Lille are hard to beat at home but Monaco have shown improvement since Jardim’s arrival. Backing the hosts with the draw no bet option looks the best play here.
