The pick of Saturday’s fixtures in League Two is a top of the table (or near enough) clash between Lincoln City and Accrington Stanley at Sincil Bank with both teams going in search of all three points to strengthen their respective bids for promotion.
Lincoln sit in sixth place and four points behind third placed Accrington ahead of this Saturday afternoon’s clash, but The Imps have every reason to be confident of getting something out of this game following recent back-to-back league wins over Port Vale and Yeovil Town, along with a fairly solid looking home record behind them.
Lincoln have suffered just one defeat in their last six on home turf, and their home record stands at 4-4-2 13/8 which includes three clean sheets so far. Striker Matt Green appears to have returned to goalscoring form as he’s notched in each of his last three matches in all competitions.
Visitors Accrington Stanley sit in third spot and occupy the third automatic promotion place ahead of back-to-back trips to Lincoln City, having lost 3-2 to The Imps in the Football Trophy last time out on their travels.
Stanley have lost three of their last five in all competitions, so although they hold a four point cushion over Lincoln, there’s no guarantees of all three points for the visitors in this one. Accrington have a pretty good record at home in the league, but an away record of 5-2-3 15/13 includes recent defeats at Stevenage and Exeter City.
The visitors also possess dangerous forwards, Kee (10 goals) and Jackson (7 goals), but they’ve drawn a blank in their last two matches on the road.
