Joint Premier League leaders, Liverpool, play host to top flight strugglers, Cardiff City as the betting tips continue at Anfield on Saturday afternoon.
Liverpool maintained their early challenge for the Premier League title with a valuable 1-0 win away at struggling Huddersfield Town and they now have another great opportunity to pick up another ‘easy’ three points when Neil Warnock’s Cardiff City come to merseyside this Saturday afternoon.
The Reds still remain unbeaten so far this season and manager Jurgen Klopp will no doubt be delighted with his side’s six clean sheets to date which has been in no small way due to the signing of former Southampton defender, Virgil van Dijk.
An impressive four-match winning run at Anfield came to an end last time out when they hosted Manchester City, but Liverpool are now unbeaten on home turf in their last 25 matches which is a staggering record in the English top flight. They currently hold a home record of 3-1-0 8/0 with Salah and Mane (4 goals apiece) being the main contributors.
Cardiff City registered a vital 4-2 home win last weekend when they beat Fulham at the Cardiff City Stadium which would have been a huge relief for Neil Warnock and his side. The Bluebirds had previously lost their last five on the trot with defeats to Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City, Burnley and Tottenham in what was a particularly punishing run of fixtures for the Welsh club.
Not that a trip to Liverpool makes things any easier for Warnock and co as they search for their first away win of the season, but having recorded just one win on the road from their last 20 matches in the top flight, it doesn’t look promising for Cardiff here.
An away record of 0-1-3 1/7 includes the lowest goal tally away from home in the Premier League this season, and they’ll be up against a Liverpool outfit who have yet to concede at home this term.
