After losing what was a potentially title deciding clash against Manchester City 2-1 away at the Emirates Stadium a couple of matches ago, Jurgen Klopp’s men re-grouped and bounced back with two wins on the trot over Brighton and Crystal Palace.
Although they were pushed by the latter, Crystal Palace, in a 4-3 win, Liverpool still found a way to win and they now hold a four point lead at the top of the Premier League after Manchester City were beaten 2-1 away at Newcastle United on Tuesday night.
Liverpool can now open up what would be a significant seven point lead over City if they take all three points at home against Leicester City tonight and having remained unbeaten at Anfield throughout this season with a formidable record of 10-1-0 31/6, it’s hard to see them doing anything but.
Liverpool have won their last seven matches at home in the Premier League, scoring a total of 23 goals and conceding just 6 in reply during this sequence. Indeed, Liverpool have kept a total of seven clean sheets at Anfield to date.

Leicester City dropped down to the mid-table position of 10th in the Premier League following a pulsating 4-3 loss away at east midlands rivals, Wolves last time out and we saw a new facet to manager Claude Puel who became very agitated and animated as the pressure increases upon his position in charge of The Foxes.
Leicester have now lost three of their last four matches overall with defeats suffered against Cardiff City, Southampton and the aforementioned Wolves. Form away from home has also been fairly inconsistent this season as their record of 5-2-5 16/17 indicates, which includes recent wins at Chelsea and Everton but also losses at Crystal Palace and Wolves.
Therefore, a trip to Anfield to face a Liverpool outfit who are firing on all cylinders may well spell further trouble for Puel’s side and indeed Puel’s position at the club.
