Liverpool Prediction – Can Liverpool bounce back at Anfield?

Following their disappointing 2-0 defeat away at Napoli on Matchday 1, the defending Champions League winners return to Anfield where The Reds will be desperately looking to bounce back with a win as they prop up the early Group E standing along with Belgian outfit, Genk.

That defeat in Italy aside though, Jurgen Klopp’s boys have been in impressive form of late as the merseysiders have racked up 9 wins out of their last 10 matches in all competitions, which includes winning all 7 of their Premier League matches to date this season.

Notable wins already this season include victories against Arsenal 3-1 and Chelsea 2-1, while results at Anfield have been excellent in the Premier League with Liverpool winning their last 10 matches on the trot.

Home form in the Champions League has also been exemplary as The Reds are unbeaten in their last 14 matches on home turf, and this impressive sequence includes 10 wins with notable victories over Manchester City 3-0, Roma 5-2, PSG 3-2, Napoli 1-0 and a 4-0 romp over Barcelona.

Salzburg Prediction – Can Salzburg upset the odds?

Of course, there’s always a chance of an upset in football, but Austrian side, Salzburg, will face an extremely tough task of getting anything out of their trip to Anfield on Wednesday night in Matchday 2 of the Champions League.

The visitors have also produced a string of impressive results of late as they’re unbeaten in their last 10 matches overall in all competitions, including a 6-2 dismantling of Belgian side, Genk, on Matchday 1 of the Champions League which has placed them joint top of Group E with Italian club, Napoli, who dished out a defeat to Liverpool last time out.

Having won 8 of their first 9 matches of their domestic Bundesliga campaign, Salzburg are in pretty good nick too, while results away from home in the Champions League have also shown promise as the visitors are unbeaten in their last 7 matches on the road.

Prior to that though, Salzburg had lost 7 of their 9 away ties beforehand and although this is their first ever meeting against Liverpool, the gulf in quality should be on show here this evening.

Key-Facts – Liverpool v Salzburg

  • Liverpool have won 10 of their last 14 home ties in the Champions League
  • Liverpool have won 9 of their last 10 matches in all competitions
  • Salzburg are unbeaten in their last 7 away matches in the Champions League

Betting Tips Verdict

Liverpool’s obvious class and quality throughout their squad should be too much for Salzburg at a charged Anfield.
