The FA Cup third round action continues on Sunday and our next preview features the clash between Liverpool and Everton as the betting tips continue at Anfield.

Liverpool Prediction – Can Liverpool continue dominance in FA Cup?

A mouthwatering clash is coming up at Anfield as this fixture not only pits the wits of a local derby in the third round of the FA Cup but also those of managers, Jurgen Klopp and Carlo Ancelotti, as their respective sides go head-to-head at Anfield.

Liverpool picked up their fifth win on the trot in all competitions and their 11th straight win on the trot in the Premier League when they recorded a 2-0 home win against Sheffield United to maintain their lead at the top of the Premier League.

With one domestic title seemingly already nailed down with the league title on its way to Anfield, Jurgen Klopp must decide if his Liverpool side can fight on three fronts this season as they also have the small matter of defending their Champions League crown too.

I suspect Klopp will rotate his squad for this FA Cup clash against Everton as the domestic cup competitions are lower on the agenda for most Premier League clubs, and this raises doubt on a home win here. Instead, both teams to score looks more favourable, especially given Everton’s recent revival of fortunes.

Everton Prediction – Can Everton get one over their rivals?

Although Everton came off second best away from home at Manchester City in their recent 2-1 defeat at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League, The Toffees have nevertheless made a significant improvement in results since the departure of former manager, Marco Silva.

Wins against Chelsea, Burnley and Newcastle United along with picking up points in draws with Manchester United and Arsenal have helped transform a seemingly ‘down-and-out’ Everton side into current mid-table occupants in the top flight.

The arrival of new manager, Carlo Ancelotti, should also bring further stability at the club and they’ll make the short trip to Anfield in confident mood as they prepare to upset the odds against their old foes in this FA Cup third round tie on merseyside.

Being a local derby though does seem to rule out an Everton win here, but each of Everton’s last 7 matches away from home in all competitions have resulted with both teams scoring.

Key-Facts – Liverpool vs Everton

  • Liverpool have won their last 11 matches on the trot in the Premier League
  • Each of Everton’s last 7 away matches have seen both teams score
  • Liverpool won the last encounter against Everton 5-2 at Anfield

Betting Tips Verdict

With rotated squads and a local derby, the both teams to score option looks the safest option here.
