Livingston Preview – Can Livi extend their excellent home form to make it eight wins in 11 games?
Gary Holt would have been both pleased and relieved with his team’s win over Ross County immediately before the international break. It was Livi’s first victory of the season and gives them some respite after a couple of near misses. Performances, in the main, have been pretty good but that counts for little in a league as competitive as this, outside of the top two. The only game where Holt would have been disappointed in his team was the 4-1 thumping at home to Hibs.
Aside from that, they have drawn at home to Rangers with a typically battling display and came back to get a point away to Motherwell before leave Pittodrie with nothing having given Aberdeen a scare.
Livingston finished fifth last season in an excellent campaign but trying to match those feats will be difficult. Not least because they have again lost a number of key players including the two million pounds sale of Lyndon Dykes. He was their main source of goals and it is bound to be difficult to replace them.
What hasn’t changed, however, is the pitch at the Tony Macaroni Stadium. The plastic surface is a real advantage for Livi and that’s shown by the fact they have won seven of their last 10 here – the only defeat being that loss to Hibs.
Hamilton Preview – Can Accies find a rare win to keep themselves above Motherwell and off bottom spot?
It’s a new campaign and in very different circumstances but Hamilton will feel right at home as they are again the favourites for relegation. Accies have defied the odds in the previous six seasons to stay in the Premiership and they will be hoping to make it a magnificent seventh. It’s been a fairly standard start in that they have been very ordinary in most of their games but shown real fight and determination to pick up a win where it was unexpected.
The 1-0 success away to local rivals Motherwell may be their only points so far but it’s enough to keep them above the Fir Park club heading into this weekend’s games.

Manager Brian Rice will feel that now his team have played both Celtic and Rangers in their opening five games it gives them a good run of games to try and pick up some more points. Hamilton have also played a game less than the teams around them due to a postponement earlier in the season.
Similar to tomorrow’s opponents, there’s a lot of new players being embedded into this team and it will take time for them to find an understanding. Rice will be hoping that the international break will have helped in that respect.
Livingston vs Hamilton Betting Advice
There is little to choose between the teams when it comes to head to head meetings. The seven games they have played at this level have seen Livi successful in three and two victories for Accies. Hamilton did secure a valuable point on their last visit here after a drab goalless draw.
It’s a game that both teams will be targeting. Livingston expect to win these games at home whilst Rice will see this as an opportunity to get points against the team directly above them.
Key Facts – Livingston vs Hamilton Betting Tip
- Livingston’s only defeat in their last 10 home matches was against Hibs, losing 4-1 back in August
- Hamilton’s only points this season came courtesy of a derby win away to Motherwell – the only team below them
- The seven Premiership meetings between the two have seen three wins for Livi and two for Accies
In choosing a selection it’s hard to ignore how strong Livingston are at home. Seven wins in 10 is an phenomenal record for a team of their standing and this looks a good prospect for them to improve it further.
