There are four Scottish Premiership fixtures taking place this Saturday, including the intriguing Livingston v Hibernian clash at the Tony Macaroni Arena. Livi started their campaign with a loss last weekend, while Hibs picked up maximum points from their opening fixture. Can the Hibees secure an away win in Livingston this Saturday? Livingston Preview – Can Livi put three points on the board this weekend

Gary Holt’s Livingston had a fine season in the Scottish Premiership last term, going on to take fifth spot. Livi won a third of their 30 league fixtures, drawing nine and losing 11 of the other 20. They netted an impressive 41 goals, which was only bettered by the Old Firm and Hibernian.

Livi would love to build on fifth place from last season and finish even higher this time around. However, their campaign got off to a losing start at St Mirren Park last weekend. A 30th-minute Richard Tate goal proved to be enough to give Jim Goodwin’s St Mirren a 1-0 victory in Paisley.

Our betting prediction:
Over 1.5 goals
1/3

The Lions were incredibly hard to beat on their own patch last season. They lost just two Premiership home matches, with just Aberdeen and Rangers winning on their patch. Back in October, they beat champions Celtic 2-0 at the Tony Macaroni Arena. Livingston have not lost at home since November.

Livi will be hoping to carry that impressive home form into this season. Can Holt’s boys secure maximum points from this fixture?

Hibernian Preview – Hibees to make it six points from an available six?

Hibernian had a mixed campaign last term, going on to take sixth spot in the Premiership. It was a turbulent year for the Cabbage, who had three different managers. Jack Ross, who took over in November, is still in charge at Easter Road.

Despite just four teams picking up more away points, Hibs were poor on the road last season. The Edinburgh club were beaten eight times on their travels, winning just four of 15. Overall, the Hibees won nine, drew ten and lost 11 of their 30 Premiership matches.

Ross’ troops got their 2020-21 season off to a winning start last weekend. A Martin Boyle brace helped Hibs to a 2-1 home victory over Kilmarnock.

This is a big season for Hibernian, who look to finish in the European places in the Premiership. After last weekend’s win over Killie, can the Cabbage make it six points from a possible six with victory in Livingston on Saturday?

Livingston vs Hibernian Betting Advice

On paper, these two teams seem pretty evenly matched. Last term, Livingston finished just one place and two points above Hibs in the table.

Key Facts – Livingston vs Hibernian Betting Tip

  • Livingston finished two points above Hibernian in the Premiership last term
  • Hibs have won just one of the previous six meetings
  • Livi were beaten last time out, while the Hibees picked up three points on opening weekend

Two of the three Premiership meetings between Livi and Hibs ended in draws last season. In October, they drew 2-2 at Easter Road before another draw (1-1) in Hibernian in February. Sandwiched in between those stalemates was a 2-0 home win for the Lions.

The bookies are having a hard time splitting these two, and I fancy this intriguing clash to end all square at the Tony Macaroni Arena. You can get the top odds of 5/1 for these two to play out another 1-1 draw on Saturday.
