Livingston Preview – Will Livi continue their excellent form and extend their unbeaten run to 15 matches?
It cannot be underestimated just how good a job David Martindale has done since taking over from Gary Holt at the end of November. Martindale – who has be assistant to three different managers at the club – is in the lead role for the first time in his career but you would never know. Tuesday’s 2-0 win away to Aberdeen means Livi are now unbeaten in their last 14 matches – winning 11 of them. Two of their three draws have come against Celtic, as well.
Their current excellent run means Livingston are now in the conversation to finish in third spot. They are seven points behind Hibs at the moment but do have a game in hand.
St Johnstone Preview – Can St Johnstone boost their hopes of a top six finish with all three points?
Defeat at Ibrox on Wednesday was St Johnstone’s first loss in eight games across all competitions. Although disappointing that unbeaten stretch of games has come to an end, it was much-needed to get them climbing the league and included that memorable 3-0 win against Hibs in the semi-final of the League Cup. Saints are also now better placed to challenge for a top six spot which would be a success in Callum Davidson’s first season in charge.
There is still work to do to achieve that, however, as they sit in eighth place, four points behind St Mirren in sixth and having played three games more.

Playing on the road appears to suit Davidson’s team as well. Whilst goals have been a struggle in home matches (11 in 13) they are much more dynamic on their travels (20 in 14). So that will give them encouragement playing on Saturday at a ground which is traditionally very difficult to play at.
Saints will be hoping to improve their winning record away from home, though. Last weekend’s come-from-behind victory at Kilmarnock is their only win in their last six away games in the Premiership.
Livingston vs St Johnstone Betting Advice
Livingston have had the upper hand in the meetings so far this season, winning both of them. All connected with the club will know that if they can make it three in a row then it would give them something of a hold over St Johnstone heading into that showpiece occasion in three weeks.
The visitors will be aware of this as well and be desperate to get something from the match for that reason but also to keep their top six hopes alive.
