Luton Town Preview – Can the Hatters seal a third home win on the spin?

Nathan Jones’ Luton have made a decent start to their season. The Hatters were many people’s favourites for relegation before a ball was kicked this term, but Town have spent the majority of their campaign in and around the middle part of the table.

Luton have been solid at Kenilworth Road so far, winning four, drawing three and losing two of nine. The Hatters have secured two superb wins in their last two on home soil. After a 3-1 win over high-flying Norwich City, Town eased past Preston North End in front of 2,000 spectators last Saturday, with the excellent James Collins helping himself to a hat-trick.

Our betting prediction:
Dominic Solanke to score first
4/1

Luton have surprised many by their solid start, and Jones’ troops are not an easy nut to crack on their own patch. Can they cause an upset against Bournemouth on Saturday?

Bournemouth Preview – Cherries to extend unbeaten run to five?

Jason Tindall’s troops have been in fine fettle of late, winning four and drawing one of their last four. In fact, the shock home reverse to Preston on December 1st was only their second league defeat of the season.

Bournemouth were made to work hard by Wycombe Wanderers for their midweek win. Helped by Alex Pattison’s red card, the Cherries secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory at the Vitality Stadium thanks to Junior Stanislas’ second-half goal.

Bournemouth head to Bedfordshire in fine fettle, winning six of their previous nine Championship encounters. The south coast club have lost just one away league game so far, winning two and drawing two of their last four. Will they leave Luton with maximum points at the weekend?

Luton Town vs Bournemouth Betting Advice

These two sides met in the Emirates FA Cup at the start of the year, with Philip Billing (2), Callum Wilson and Dominic Solanke scoring in a 4-0 home win for the Cherries. 11 years have passed since the pair last squared off in a league fixture. In the 2008-09 EFL League One season, both games ended in draws.

Key Facts – Luton Town vs Bournemouth Betting Tip

  • Bournemouth have a good recent record over Luton, winning three and drawing two of the last five league and cup meetings
  • The Cherries have suffered just two Championship defeats this term
  • Luton have won their last two at Kenilworth Road, seeing off Norwich 3-1 and Preston 3-0

As we mentioned, Jones has made this Luton outfit a tough team to play against this season, especially at Kenilworth Road, where 15 of their 26 points have been collected. However, in-form Bournemouth are beginning to hit their stride, and Tindall’s men will fancy their chances in this one.

Bournemouth’s last four wins have all come with clean sheets. You can get 21/10 for the away side to win to nil on Saturday. There is also good value in Unibet’s 37/20 for the visitors to be winning at half time and full time.
