Luton Town survived by the skin of their teeth in terms of Championship relegation last season. Nathan Jones returned to the club, pulling off a miracle after the restart to keep the Hatters in the second tier.
Luton were one of the relegation favourites before a ball was kicked this term, but Town have started their season in stunning style. Jones’ men kicked off their Championship campaign with a 1-0 win at Barnsley. They followed that up with a superb 2-1 home victory over Derby County last Saturday, with Luke Berry and Jordan Clark on target.
Luton have won four league and cup games on the spin at the start of this season. Town beat Norwich City 3-1 at Kenilworth Road in the first round of the League Cup before winning 1-0 at Reading in round two. Manchester United Preview – Will the Red Devils avoid an EFL Cup upset in midweek?
Due to their involvement in the latter stages of the 2019-20 UEFA Europa League, this will only be Manchester United’s second game of the new season. The Red Devils’ Premier League campaign got off to the worst possible start last weekend, as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s boys were beaten 3-1 at home by Crystal Palace.
Man Utd will be pushing for a place in the Premier League’s top four once again, while they will want to go far in this season’s UEFA Champions League. The domestic cup competitions could be low down on their priority list, but the Red Devils will be desperate to avoid a cup upset on Tuesday, get their first win of the new campaign and book their spot in round four.
