Europa League at Unibet

The 2nd legs of the 2nd qualifying round of the Europa League continue on Thursday night with Swedish side, Malmo, taking on Slovenian outfit, Domzale, as the betting tips continue at the Swedbank Stadion.

Malmo Prediction – Can Malmo secure passage to next round?

After an entertaining 4-goal thriller in Slovenia last week, Malmo will be relieved that they’re still in this 2nd qualifying round tie against Domzale.

Thursday night’s hosts fell behind twice to the Slovenian outfit but responded twice to earn a valuable 2-2 draw with the scores level ahead of this deciding leg.

Another draw, this time a 0-0 stalemate, followed on after their midweek Europa League exploits against Ostersunds in the Allsvenskan.

Nevertheless, Malmo are now unbeaten in their last 6 matches overall in all competitions, and this momentum could swing this tie in their favour.

In the previous round of the Europa League, they breezed through their two-legged affair against Irish side, Ballymena United, winning 11-0 on aggregate.

4 draws within these last 6 matches is something to be wary of, although only one of these were at home against Sirius (1-1) in the Allsvenskan.

With just 1 defeat out of Malmo’s last 16 matches on home turf at their Swedbank Stadion, this surely places Malmo in the driving seat for this 2nd leg.

Domzale Prediction – Can AZ nick a win in Sweden?

Although Domzale responded in positive fashion to their recent defeat to Olimpija in the Slovenian top flight, they’ll do well to get a result in Sweden.

The visitors were handed a 4-2 defeat away from home at Olimpija in the 1. SNL, but bounced back by holding Malmo to a 2-2 draw.

Indeed, Domzale may well feel they could have won last week’s 1st leg at their Športni Park, but now find themselves up against it at Swedbank Stadion on Thursday night.

Despite the scores still remaining level, defeat on the road last time out in the domestic top flight might have just taken the wind out of their sails.

Domzale had previously strung together an impressive 6-match winning streak away from home which included a 4-3 win at Maltese outfit, Balzan, in the previous round.

However, the majority of Domzale’s success on the road has been limited to the domestic front as they’ve won just 3 of their last 9 away ties in the Europa League.

Wins at Flora Tallinn, Valur and Balzan were against sides that quite frankly aren’t in the same pedigree as Malmo.

Key-Facts – Malmo v Domzale

  • Malmo have lost just 1 of their last 16 home matches overall at Swedbank Stadion
  • Malmo have lost just 1 of their last 10 home ties in the Europa League
  • Domzale have won just 3 of their last 9 away ties in the Europa League

Betting Tips Verdict

Malmo will now be desperate to make home advantage count here against a Domzale side whose chance seems to have slipped through their grasp.
