Manchester City crashed to a shock 2-0 home defeat to Patrick Vieira’s Crystal Palace in their last home league game. The reverse to the Eagles was City’s first home loss in any competition this season.
Since then, Pep’s superstars have struck back with wins in the UEFA Champions League and Premier League. Rafa Benitez is enduring a tough spell at Everton right now. The former Liverpool boss started well, but the Toffees head to the Etihad without a win in five. Since a 2-0 home success over Norwich City, Everton have taken just two points from a possible 15.
After three straight losses to West Ham, Watford and Wolverhampton Wanderers, Everton at least stopped the rot before the break, holding Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur to a goalless draw at Goodison Park.
