Boxing Day’s hosts, Manchester City, may be bringing a five-match unbeaten run in the Premier League into this clash with Newcastle United but Pep Guardiola’s side still sit in 8th place and find themselves eight points adrift of league leaders, Liverpool, heading into the festive period of fixtures.

Five of Newcastle’s six away matches to date have resulted in under 2.5 goals with the one exception being a 5-2 loss at Leeds United but they stand a chance of at least keeping the scoreline close on Boxing Day.
