Football – England – Premier League Betting Tips

The pick of the Wednesday evening fixtures in the Premier League is undoubtedly the following clash between Manchester United and Arsenal as the betting tips continue at Old Trafford.

Manchester United come into this important match on the back of three league matches without a win in the top flight following a 3-1 loss away at rivals Manchester City and then back-to-back stalemates with Premier League strugglers, Crystal Palace 0-0 and Southampton 2-2.

Overall, it’s been a poor campaign so far this season by United’s previous lofty standards and manager Jose Mourinho could well be the ‘Special One’ but for all the wrong reasons as his United side currently occupy 8th place and are in danger of missing out on European football next season – indeed, even David Moyes who was berated for a 7th place finish could actually end up with a better record with United than Mourinho.

United possess a steady home record of  3-2-1 8/8 but a lack of goals has held them back; along with Tottenham, they’re the lowest goalscorers at home in the top half of the Premier League. And although they’ve recorded wins over Leicester City, Newcastle United and Everton, a big test against a rejuvenated Arsenal outfit now awaits…

By contrast, Arsenal are sitting pretty in fourth place and just a point behind Chelsea as Unai Emery’s side captured a third win on the trot in all competitions when they beat North London rivals Tottenham 4-2 at The Emirates on Sunday.

Previous away wins at Bournemouth (EPL) and Vorskla (Europa League) have helped continue Arsenal’s early season momentum, but the time is fast approaching when we have previously seen an Arsenal challenge falter on a regular basis just after Christmas.

An impressive 12-match unbeaten run ahead of their trip to Old Trafford perhaps suggests things could be different this time around, while their results away from home have definitely picked up under Emery compared to Wenger’s last season in charge, as The Gunners hold a pretty good record of  4-1-1  16/10 on their travels.

Arsenal have won four of their last five on the road with wins at Cardiff City, Newcastle United, Fulham and Bournemouth which is in stark contrast to just one win from their previous 9 away matches under Wenger.

However, they too face a tough encounter on Wednesday night and the betting tips wouldn’t be surprised if this ended up all square.
